NiMet predicts sunshine, cloudiness from Wednesday to Friday 

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunshine and cloudiness from Wednesday to Friday across the country.

NiMet’s weather outlook, released on Tuesday in Abuja, predicted cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine over the northern region on Wednesday with slim prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Taraba and Adamawa states.

According to NiMet, later in the day, cloudy conditions are anticipated with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna and Borno states during the afternoon and evening period.

It forecast patches of clouds over the North Central region in the morning.

“Cloudy condition with chances of thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Plateau, Nasarawa, Kwara, Niger, Federal Capital Territory and Kogi states in the afternoon and evening period.

“Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Oyo and Ogun states in the morning.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Edo, Enugu, Imo, Oyo, Ondo, Abia and Ogun states.

Morning thunderstorms are anticipated over Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers and Lagos states,” it said.

NiMet envisaged cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Delta states in the afternoon and evening period.

The agency anticipated sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds on Thursday over the northern region with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Kaduna in the morning.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi and Kaduna states.

“Cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine are expected over the North Central region in the morning with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi and Kwara states.

“Later in the day, cloudy conditions are anticipated with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Kogi, Plateau, Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory.

“Cloudy conditions are anticipated over the Inland of the South in the morning with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Ondo, Oyo and Enugu states. Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over most places.

“Morning thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Akwa Ibom state. Cloudy conditions are anticipated over the coast with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, River, Delta and Bayelsa states in the afternoon and evening.

According to NiMet, cloudy atmosphere is envisaged over the northern region with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Bauchi, Taraba and Adamawa states in the morning of Friday.

The agency predicted thunderstorms over parts of Borno, Taraba and Adamawa states later in the day.

“Cloudy condition is expected in the morning over the Central states with slim prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Niger, Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory.

“There are prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory in the afternoon and evening.

”Cloudy condition is anticipated over the Inland of the South in the morning with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Edo and Ogun state,” it said.

NiMet forecast prospects of thunderstorms over Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Abia and Ekiti states in the afternoon and evening.

The agency anticipated cloudy condition over the coastal cities in the morning with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Bayelsa and Lagos states.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are envisaged over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

“For areas where thunderstorms are expected, strong winds are likely to precede the rains and as such, trees, electric poles, unsecured objects and weak buildings may be blown away, so the public is advised to be cautious.

“High temperatures are observed over the country which could cause heat-stress. Public is advised to take necessary caution and coping strategies to reduce heat-stress,” it said.

According to NiMet, all Airline operators are advised to avail themselves of weather reports periodically from its office for effective planning on their operations.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunshine and thunderstorms from Sunday to Tuesday across the country.

NiMet`s weather outlook released on Saturday predicted sunny skies on Sunday with patches of cloud over the northern region.

It forecast isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Katsina, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Kaduna, Kebbi, Jigawa and Taraba States during the morning periods.

According to it, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Adamawa, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna and Taraba States later in the day.

“Cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are expected over the North Central region with prospects of thunderstorms over Kwara, Niger, Benue and Kogi States during the morning hours.

“ Widespread thunderstorms are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau and Kogi States later in the day.

“Cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over the southern states with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Delta States during the morning periods, “ it said.

According to him, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Delta States later in the day.

NiMet envisages sunny skies on Monday with patches of cloud over the northern region during the morning periods.

“ Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Kaduna, Adamawa and Taraba States.

“The North Central region should be cloudy with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Kogi, Benue, Niger the Federal Capital Territory and Kwara States during the morning hours.

“In the afternoon/evening hours, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States,“ it said.

According to it, the southern region should be cloudy with thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Ondo, Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta States during the morning hours.

It anticipated thunderstorms over parts of Oyo, Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Ekiti, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta States later in the day.

It predicted sunny atmosphere on Tuesday with patches of cloud over the northern region with prospect of thunderstorms over parts of Taraba during the morning hours.

It predicted isolated thunderstorms over parts of Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Adamawa and Taraba States as the day progresses.

“ The North Central region should be cloudy with sunshine intervals with prospects of isolated thunderstorm over parts of Niger State during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Kwara and Benue States.

“Cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is expected over the southern region during the morning hours,“ it said.

The agency predicted thunderstorms over parts of Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa States later in the day.

NiMet urged the public to take adequate precaution as strong winds might precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms were likely to occur.

The agency also advised Airline operators to get updated weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for effective planning of their operations.

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Tuesday in Abuja forecast sunny atmosphere over the northern region during the forecast period.

It envisaged sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds over the North Central cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Kogi and Benue states later in the day.

NiMet anticipated cloudy skies with sunshine intervals over Inland of the South and the coastal parts with the prospects of morning isolated thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States.

The agency also anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Edo, Imo, Abia, Lagos, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa States later in the day.

“For Thursday, sunny skies are anticipated over the northern region with prospects of isolated thunderstorm over Kebbi State during the afternoon period.

“Sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds is anticipated over the North Central cities during the forecast period with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa and Benue states later in the day.

“Cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is expected over the inland of the South and the Coast with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Bayelsa and Rivers States,” it said.

The agency envisaged thunderstorms over parts of Abia, Imo, Edo, Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Lagos states during afternoon and evening period.

According to the agency, sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds is anticipated over the northern region during the forecast period on Friday.

It anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba and Kebbi States during the afternoon and evening period.

“Cloud patches with sunshine intervals are expected over the North Central cities during the forecast period with chances of thunderstorms over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau and Kogi States in the afternoon and evening period.

“Cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is expected over the Inland of the South and the Coast with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Bayelsa and Rivers States.

” Thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Abia, Imo, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Lagos states during the afternoon and evening periods,” it said.

NiMet advised the public to take adequate precaution as strong winds might precede rains in areas where thunderstorms might likely occur.

It further advised the public to stay hydrated as temperature values were still high especially in the North.

“People with respiratory issues should be cautious of the present weather situations. Children and the elderly should wear warm clothing at night.

“Airline operators are advised to get updated weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for effective planning in their operations,” it said.

”Cloudy conditions with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over inland areas of the South, and coastal parts with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa during the morning period.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Ogun, Ondo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Lagos states,” it said.

According to NiMet, sunny and hazy skies are expected over the northern region during the forecast period on Tuesday.

It predicted patches of clouds in hazy atmosphere over the North Central cities throughout the forecast period.

NiMet anticipated cloudy atmosphere with spells of sunshine over the inland states and coastal areas
of the South, with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Lagos states.

The agency envisaged thunderstorms over parts of Abia, Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Ogun, Ondo,
Edo, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Lagos states during the afternoon and evening
periods.

“For Wednesday, sunny and hazy atmosphere is expected over the northern region during the forecast period.

“Patches of clouds in hazy atmosphere is expected over the North central cities during the forecast period.

“Cloudy conditions with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over the inland states and coastal
areas of the South during the morning period.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Edo, Ogun, Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States during the afternoon and evening periods,” it said.

The agency urged the public to take adequate precaution as strong winds might precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms were likely to occur.

According to it, temperature values are still high especially in the North. Poeple should stay hydrated.

It advised people with respiratory issues to be cautious of the present weather situations, adding that children and the elderly ought to wear warm clothing at Night.

“Airline operators are advised to get updated weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for effective planning in their operations, ” it said.
