Christmas: Perm Sec urges prayers for Nigeria military officers
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr Ibrahim Kana has urged all Nigerians to pray for the nation’s Military officers, protecting the country.
Kana gave the charge while felicitating with Christians on the celebration of Christmas.
He also charged Nigerians to live in peace and love as exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ.

This is contained in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by Mr Henshaw Ogubike, Director, Information, Press and Public Relations of the ministry.
The permanent secretary who sent his warmest and heartfelt greetings to all Nigerians, noted that Christmas is a season of peace, love and sharing.
He, therefore, called on all Christians and Nigerians at large to show the love of Christ toward one another, especially the Nigerian military.
“Let us all remember the military in the front lines fighting insecurity in the country.
“Let us also remember in the midst of our diversity, the essence of this season and strive to forster unity, understanding and harmony in our communities and
nation.”
He also commended the military, adding that their efforts in the fight against insecurity were not unnoticed.
“We acknowledge your sacrifices and we thank you for your perseverance in discharging your professional duties,” he said.
He further prayed that the yuletide celebration brought all together as one family and align everyone with Christ’s teaching of peace, love and harmony.
Kana, also reflecting on the insecurity facing the nation, noted that with love and unity, the nation could defeat her common enemies of terrorism and other criminalities.

Yobe Govt Donates N100m to Support Borno Flood Victims
Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has extended a N100 million donation to the Borno State Government to aid victims of the recent Maiduguri floods. The announcement was made during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in Maiduguri on Saturday.
In addition to the state donation, Governor Buni also pledged a personal contribution of food items worth N50 million to assist those affected by the floods. He described the humanitarian crisis as devastating and urged everyone to come forward with support.
“Yobe and Borno states are like twins, sharing similar hardships. We must stand by each other in times of need,” Buni stated.
The Yobe Governor also expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the disaster and wished a quick recovery for the injured.
Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to Governor Buni and the people of Yobe State for their generosity and solidarity. He highlighted the strong bond between the two states, noting that Buni’s administration has further strengthened the unity between Borno and Yobe.
“The people of Yobe and Borno are one family, and this support reinforces that connection. We deeply appreciate the gesture,” Zulum said.
