“Hoodlums Steal Key Files on Ganduje’s Corruption Charges Amid Protests—Gov Yusuf”

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has revealed that crucial documents related to corruption charges against former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family, and aides were stolen from the State High Court during recent nationwide anti-hunger protests. The theft occurred when miscreants vandalized the court, causing extensive damage.

Dr. Ganduje, who currently serves as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is facing multiple corruption charges in the State High Court.

Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s Spokesperson, shared this information in a statement, noting that Governor Yusuf made these remarks during an on-site inspection of the court. The governor expressed deep concern over the incident, labeling it a deliberate attempt by “enemies of Kano State” to disrupt the judicial process and hinder the corruption cases against Ganduje and his associates.

The governor highlighted the extensive destruction at the court, including damage to the office of the State Chief Judge. The total losses are estimated to exceed N1 billion, with stolen office equipment, damaged offices, and burned vehicles among the items lost, all of which are vital to the functioning of the justice system.

Governor Yusuf urged the youth to avoid being manipulated by those seeking to incite violence and instead focus on acquiring skills for a better future. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Kano State residents.

Emphasizing the Judiciary’s critical role as the “last hope of the common man,” Governor Yusuf ordered the immediate repair of the High Court building and the deployment of enhanced security measures to ensure the effective administration of justice.

The governor also extended his condolences to the State Chief Judge, Dije Abdu Aboki, and the Judiciary as a whole, urging them to work diligently to recover lost court records for the benefit of the public. He praised the people of Kano for their continued support of the state government and expressed hope for ongoing peace, stability, and economic growth in the region.
