My music career incomplete without Don Jazzy – D’banj

Nigerian singer and rapper, Oladapo Oyebanjo, with the stage name “D’banj”, said his 20 years music journey would not have been complete without his business partner, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as “Don Jazzy”.

41-year-old D’banj took to his Instagram page on Tuesday with a display of a video to appreciate Don Jazzy and invite him to his 20th year anniversary dinner.

He described the two decades as years characterised by brotherhood, entertainment and that of unwavering support.

D’banj wrote: “My 20 year journey cannot be complete without It’s @donjazzy again! Giving him the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia.

“As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together.

“Here’s to two decades of brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support. Love you always, Brother!.”

Don Jazzy also took to the comment section, saying: “Still finding it hard to believe it’s been 20 years bro. Feels like yesterday. Thank you for everything. Love you brotherLee. More blessings 🩶🐘.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Don Jazzy, a Nigerian record producer and Chief Executive Officer of Mavin Records, co-founded Mo’Hits Records with D’banj in 2004.

D’banj had earlier hinted of his plan to celebrate his 20 years on stage at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos, with the theme “D’banj live @New Afrika Shrine”.

BBNaija S9: ‘Radicals’ duo evicted from reality show

The ‘Radicals’ team, consisting of housemates Fairme David and Michky, has been evicted from the ongoing Big Brother Naija ‘No Loose Guard’ season 9.

The pair was eliminated during Sunday’s live show after securing the lowest vote count from the audience. Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the results, revealing that the duo received only 10.38 per cent of the votes.

In comparison, fellow housemates WanniXHandi and Aces garnered 32.15 per cent and 17.73 per cent, respectively.

Fairme David, a 29-year-old graduate of the University of Abuja from Delta State, is known for his love of dancing, hiking, football, and video games. His partner, Michky, a 24-year-old from Edo State, is a professional dancer and a University of Calabar graduate.

The season kicked off on July 28 with 28 housemates. As of now, 16 contestants remain in the competition, battling for the N100 million grand prize. The show is set to conclude on October 6.

Chidinma Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 at the grand finale of the annual beauty pageant held in Lagos on Saturday, August 31. The 23-year-old law student from Taraba State outshone four other finalists to claim the coveted title.

Despite facing controversy surrounding her dual-nationality, Chidinma demonstrated resilience throughout the competition. She emerged victorious after passing several rounds, including a first round where 24 contestants competed for the crown.

In the final-five round, Chidinma competed against Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas; Miss Anambra, Paula Ezendu; Miss Edo, Edeifo Brittany; and Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide. Following a rigorous evaluation, Chidinma secured the top spot, with Miss Anambra as the first runner-up and Miss Ondo as the second runner-up, also named Miss Lush.

Chidinma’s win comes just days after she opened up about her struggles with dual-nationality and the identity crisis she faced. In an interview on Cool FM with former Big Brother Naija star Tacha, she shared how she overcame the emotional toll caused by her removal from the Miss South Africa competition due to allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother.

Chidinma revealed that she found strength by shifting her mindset and learning to cope with the controversy that surrounded her identity.
