“Nigerian Air Force Destroys Boko Haram IED Factory in Borno, Neutralizes Terrorists”
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully destroyed a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) factory, along with two gun trucks, and neutralized several Boko Haram terrorists in Grazah, located in the Mandara mountains of Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information. He reported that the airstrike operation was conducted on August 2, following intelligence reports that identified the location as a potential IED factory and logistics storage site for the terrorists.
According to Gabkwet, the factory had likely been relocated from Gwoza to the Timbuktu Triangle in Sambisa Forest before finally being established in Grazah within the Mandara hills. The area had been under surveillance for several weeks, during which various installations and armed terrorist activities were observed.
“This operation is part of the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai’s ongoing efforts to counter recent attacks on innocent civilians in Borno, particularly those involving IEDs and suicide bombers,” Gabkwet stated.
He added that the NAF, in collaboration with the entire security apparatus of Operation Hadin Kai, remains committed to targeting and eliminating terrorist enclaves and disrupting their logistics networks.

Yobe Govt Donates N100m to Support Borno Flood Victims
Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has extended a N100 million donation to the Borno State Government to aid victims of the recent Maiduguri floods. The announcement was made during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in Maiduguri on Saturday.
In addition to the state donation, Governor Buni also pledged a personal contribution of food items worth N50 million to assist those affected by the floods. He described the humanitarian crisis as devastating and urged everyone to come forward with support.
“Yobe and Borno states are like twins, sharing similar hardships. We must stand by each other in times of need,” Buni stated.
The Yobe Governor also expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the disaster and wished a quick recovery for the injured.
Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to Governor Buni and the people of Yobe State for their generosity and solidarity. He highlighted the strong bond between the two states, noting that Buni’s administration has further strengthened the unity between Borno and Yobe.
“The people of Yobe and Borno are one family, and this support reinforces that connection. We deeply appreciate the gesture,” Zulum said.
