EFCC investigates Bobrisky over alleged Naira abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says it has commence investigation of Idris Okuneye, a.k.a Bobrisky, a Nigerian crossdresser, for allegedly spraying Naira notes in an event.
The commission’s spokesperson, Mr Dele Oyewole confirmed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

According to Oyewole, the commission invited the 31-year old following a video report of spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie, Ajakaju on March 24.
He said the movie was produced by Eniola Ajao, a Nollywood actress and producer, at Film One Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos.
“Investigation also revealed that he had committed similar offences at some other event centres and parties at different times.
“Following the invitation by the Commission, he arrived at the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC in the morning of Wednesday, April 4 for interrogation and volunteered his statements.
“He will soon be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,”Oyewole said.

Police arrest 6 suspected phone snatchers in Niger
The Police Command in Niger has arrested six suspect for allegedly snatching mobile phones in the state.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Command’s spokesman, said in Minna on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested on May 4.
He said the suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence received by police operatives attached to the intelligence department of the Command.
He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects broke into a residence within Kutirko-Fadikpe area of Minna, carted away iPhones and Redmi note phones.
Abiodun said the suspects had confessed to the crime, and also claimed that they sold the phones to Sule Attahiru, Abdullahi Mohammed and Shamsudeen Sabiu of Rafin-Yashi, Odu’oye Quarters and Darusalam areas respectively in Minna.
Also, the spokesman said that another suspect from Badeggi, Katcha Local Government Area was arrested with a victim’s android phone while attempting to format and unlock the handset on May 6.
He said the suspect could not give a satisfactory account of the phone and was suspected to have robbed and dispossessed the owner of the gadget
He said all the suspects were under investigation.

A Police Inspector has been detained for allegedly cutting off his pregnant wife’s hand over N3000 in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The report earlier gathered that the man committed the act after his wife allegedly took N3000 out of his savings.
It was gathered that the Inspector left the money at home and when he came looking for the money, an argument ensued leading to him turning violent.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed that the suspect has been picked up and the investigation is ongoing.
“We are aware of the incident, the man is an Inspector. Right now, he is at the State CID and the investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO told the Vanguard.
“He has a minor misunderstanding with his wife over some money. They had an argument over some N20,000 he kept in the house and he said he was looking for the money to do something and an argument ensued. The case is under investigation.”
A neighbour who didn’t want to be named said, “The wife is pregnant, she refused to give the man N3,000 from the N20,000. The argument was heated and before we knew it, the man cut off her hand. No one can say why he did that but we were concerned about her she was rushed to a hospital.”

Suspected phone thief stabs young woman in Yobe
A 24-year-old lady identified as Sheba Simon was stabbed by an unknown assailant suspected to be a phone thieve in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
The incident happened near Damaturu City College in Malali Byepass around 9:30pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
It was gathered that the victim, said to be a salesgirl, was on her way home from work when the attacker stabbed her with a knife and fled with her cell phone, leaving her in a pool of her blood.
According to reports, she was chatting with her phone after she dropped from a commercial tricycle and was trekking home when the miscreant ambushed her.
Fortunately, shop owners in the vicinity heard her screams and rushed to the scene.
They quickly took her to the Specialist Hospital Damaturu where she is currently responding to medical treatment.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, April 30, said the police have deployed all available means to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.
“Recall, on 27th April 2024 at about 2130hrs, the victim, while on her way trekking back home to her resident at Malari bypass after closing from shop in Jerusalem area of Damaturu, on reaching Damaturu City Academy, a miscreant attacked and stabbed her with a locally made Jack knife on the lower back, forcefully whisked away with her cellphone,” the statement read.
“On arriving at the scene, the police response unit rushed her to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, recuperating fast
“Meanwhile, the command has placed all available means to arrest the perpetrator and bring him to book.
“In this regard, the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, enjoins members of the communities to be conscious of their surroundings from hoodlums lurking around.
“He however advised to always report suspicious movements of persons, vehicles or objects to the nearest police station or any security agency or formation.
